Thousands of fans from all over the United States gathered in NYC to celebrate US Women’s Soccer Team victory in World Cup. It is already a fourth World Cup title for the team which makes the US soccer team an absolute record holder among all other national teams.

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced a ticker tape parade to honor the world champions and thousands of fans flooded the streets to see their favorite female athletes march the NYC streets.

The US soccer team won its second consecutive World Cup title defeating the Netherlands 2-0 thanks to the goals of Rapinoe and Rose Lavelle. Rapinoe also won the tournament’s Golden Boot and Golden Ball which she much deserved.

We selected some of the best social media fan posts which should describe the atmosphere surrounding this wonderful event.

The view from the top is absolutely fantastic. Not sure how this photo has been taken, but it is one of our favorite ones.

A lot of fans used this parade to parade their views. The signs reads “I believe that women will conquer more than just the soccer field like breaking every glass ceiling.”

Some people who came to the parade also posted on social media demands for the female soccer players to be payed same as male players. The issue of gender pay gap in sports is being raised quite often, especially in the US.

There will be a lot to clean after the event.
