The 38-year-old comedian paid tribute to the pregnant ladies in an Instagram story on Saturday, March 28.
She uploaded a picture of herself in a hospital room while holding her son, Gene, shortly after giving birth. She captioned this photo with, “Big nip love to all the pregnant ladies during this time. We are thinking about you too.”
The actress and her husband Chris Fischer, had their son Gene last May after a difficult pregnancy, and because of that, she knows exactly how many pregnant women may be feeling.
At the time, Schumer has left no choice but to cancel the remaining dates on her comedy tour due to having hyperemesis gravidarum – a rare pregnancy complication accompanied by nausea and vomiting. A few days after Gene was born, Schumer revealed her main “takeaway from pregnancy.”
In May 2019, she wrote that men are cool and whatever but women are dauntless warriors and are capable of anything and that she was lucky enough to get to have a doula. She then mentioned @domino_kirke and @carriagehousebirth, asking them “what do doulas do?” She added that she doesn’t totally know, but what the doula did was make her and husband Chris feel supported and totally secure all throughout her pregnancy up to the birth process. She really recommends getting a doula if you can.
The Trainwreck star went on with thanking Doctor Brill and all the nurses, pediatricians, and healthcare workers at Lenox Hill, along with all the other hospitals she spent time in this year, for everything. She then recollected her experiences from doing Pilates with strong women, going for walks, throwing up violently, and feeling sick mostly every day of her pregnancy. She ended the post stating that hyperemesis is real and it’s awful, but what they say is true – that the second you give birth, it’s all gone.
The Inside Amy Schumer star is undergoing IVF treatment for baby No. 2 presently, and as she quoted, it has left her feeling really emotional and run down.- Advertisement -
In an Instagram post on January 9, she called on to anyone who went through it who wouldn’t mind sharing their experience with her and give her advice. She continued saying that they are figuring out what to do to give Gene a sibling.
Schumer and Fischer were wed in February 2018.
