Billie Eilish is making history as she went home with a bunch of awards during the 2020 Grammys held at Staples Center, Sunday.

The 18-year-old singer swept all major awards that she was obviously looking annoyed every time her name was announced. For the final award that night, she was even seen mounting the words “Please don’t be me” but later shouted no when she won.

Eilish won Album of the Year and during her acceptance speech, she actually said that Ariana Grande deserved the award. In addition to this prestigious award, she also won Song of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Record of the Year, and Best New Artist. She made a bit of history during the process.

To start, 18-year-old Eilish is the youngest artist to win Album of the Year. The record was held by Taylor Swift who won Album of the Year for Fearless when she was only 20 years old. She presently ranks number seven on the list of youngest Grammy winners, joining LeAnn Rimes who was 14 when she won in 1996 and Lorde who was only 17 in 2014.

Moreover, she’s the second artist and first female artist to bag four major awards namely Record of the Year, Best New Artist, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year in one ceremony alone. Christopher Cross did it in 1981, two decades before Eilish was born. On the other hand, Adele was the second artist to win all four major awards but didn’t do so in a single year. These three artists are the only ones who have won these four major awards in the history of the Grammys.

Eilish took the Grammys by storm but she was one award short to make it to the list of artists who won the most Grammys in one night. Looking back, Michael Jackson and Santana won eight Grammys in one night. On the other hand, Eric Clapton, Roger Miller, Quincy Jones, Adele, Beyonce, and Bruno Mars won six in a single night. Meanwhile, Billie only won five. Not bad for the Best New Artist and at the rate she’s going, she could be on her way to winning more awards.
