How it all started
It looks like the end of the road for Cara Delevingne and Ashley Benson after two years of being in a relationship. According to multiple outlets, the couple called it quits in early April.
Rumors that the 27-year-old supermodel and the 30-year-old Pretty Little Liars actress were seeing each other started spreading in August 2018 after they were spotted locking lips in London. However, they only confirmed their relationship in June 2019 when the two stepped out together in New York City for The Trevor Project’s TrevorLIVE Gala.
Cara’s public confession
That time, Delevingne expressed her love for Benson during her acceptance speech. She was the recipient of the prestigious Trevor Project Hero Award. She was definitely not shy about her proclamation of love for the actress.
In her speech, she mentioned that she also has another very special woman in the venue to thank, adding that the person already knows who she’s talking about. She went on to say that this woman is one of those who helped her love herself when she needs it most and that the supermodel really needed it. Moreover, this person showed her what real love is and how to accept it, which was actually harden than the Delevingne thought.
Meanwhile, the supermodel also opened up about her relationship with Benson during an interview with Elle UK in September 2019. She admitted that she was in love and that she’s better when she is in love. She pointed out that it doesn’t have to mean being in love with someone but it could also mean being in love with herself. Also, she added that it feels incredible when you’re not alone and facing the world with someone else.
Why the couple kept their relationship a secret for so long
So why were they hesitant to go public as a couple? The supermodel said it’s because their relationship was sacred and it seemed different. She gets why people care so much and she didn’t want to be secretive that they would start thinking that she’s ashamed. She cleared that she has never been in a relationship that’s so public.- Advertisement -
According to her, they got to the point where they had kept it a secret or just that they didn’t want attention. It’s not the same as posing on a red carpet together. Cara Delevingne said that what worried her most was that people make their own assumptions.
As reported earlier, Jessie J sent birthday wishes to her ex Channing Tatum, which raised some questions about the real nature of their current relationship.
