Charlize Theron set the record straight once and for all that she almost married Sean Penn.
The Atomic Blonde actress slammed rumours during The Howard Stern Show that she was ever engaged to the actor and director whom she dated for barely a year. She categorized these engagement rumours as “such bulls—t” after Howard Stern asked her for an update regarding her personal life and about her “almost marriage” to Sean.
The Mad Max: Fury Road star cleared the air by saying that it’s not true at all that they almost tied the knot. She admitted that they dated and that was what they did. They were together for about a year and a half but broke up in June 2015.
Theron continued on to saying that they dated and then didn’t. They were in a relationship and were definitely exclusive but barely for a year. She explained that they never moved in together and that she wasn’t going to marry him. She added that it was nothing like that.
The actress went on to clarify that she never wanted to get married and it’s never been important to her. Theron assured those who are concerned about her personal life that she’s never been lonely. She has the great loves of her life namely her children, Jackson aged 8 and August who is 3.
This isn’t the first time that Theron had to speak about her split from Sean Penn. Their split was highly publicized and rumour spread on the internet that the actress ghosted the actor prior to their official split. However, the actress explained yet again what really happened.- Advertisement -
According to the 44-year-old actress, she doesn’t even know what ghosting is and described it as its own beast. She said that when a person leaves a relationship, there has to be some crazy story or drama behind it. She added that they were in a relationship but it came to the point that it didn’t work and anymore and they decided to separate.
There was also a rumous that Penn would adopt Jackson which the actress revealed as untrue. She added that it’s not something that happens in the span of 18 months and you can’t do that to a child.
