Daniel Silva has been sentenced to 364 days in county jail.
In addition, Silva was ordered to complete a probationary period of five years and 250 hours of community service. He was also given a suspended prison term of four years wherein a convicted person isn’t required to serve on the ground that his or her probationary period is completed without any issue.
Attorney Mike Cavalluzi told E! News in a statement that they are grateful that Silva has been given the opportunity of probation in this case and for being spared from a state prison sentence. He added that the tattoo artist felt remorseful and grief-stricken over the death of La Barrie. The lawyer explained that though they are very pleased with the Court’s sentence, it’s not the time to celebrate at all. They’ve lost La Barrie and Silva will always try to live up to his friend’s memory.
Last July, Silva had a deal with prosecutors and pleaded no contest to a felony count of gross vehicular manslaughter. He allegedly crashed the vehicle that killed the YouTuber on the same day as his 25th birthday.
According to authorities, the Ink Master star was driving a McLaren on Sunday evening, May 10, when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree and stop sign in the neighborhood of Valley Village in Los Angeles, California. La Barrie was on the passenger side of the vehicle and was immediately transported to the hospital where he died after suffering from his injuries.- Advertisement -
During that time, Silva was arrested and then charged for the murder of his friend.
Once the news of Silva’s sentence broke, J. David Alvarez, La Barrie’s close friend and fellow YouTuber, took to Twitter to express that he doesn’t really know how he feels at the moment but one thing is for sure and that is how much he misses La Barrie more than ever.
