David Schwimmer swears he didn’t steal that beer

On Tuesday, October 23rd the British police of the seaside city of Blackpool posted a photo on Facebook of a man who allegedly stole a case of beer from a local restaurant. The post went viral all across the globe. So what is the matter then? Things like that happen all the time, and usually seem like nothing of international importance. Except for this time, when the internet audience noticed that the man bore a striking resemblance to the famous Friends actor David Schwimmer (that’s the one who, you know… Ross).

David Schwimmer’s honor and name has been cleared by Blackpool Police fairly quickly though. They checked the actor’s whereabouts and publicly announced that he was not guilty. “Thank you to everyone for your speedy responses. We have investigated this matter thoroughly and have confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date. We’re so sorry it has to be this way” they posted on Twitter.

But even though his name had been cleared, David decided to say the last word in the matter. He posted the video online, mocking the restaurant camera footage. The video has already gotten more than half a million likes on Twitter and the count is still growing. “Officers, I swear it wasn’t me. As you can see, I was in New York” the comedian wrote.
