Ellen DeGeneres deserves the highest grade for this surprise!
The 7-year-old student named Taylor James went viral for calling out a classmate who stole her perfect attendance pencil. Well, Ellen invited the second-grade student on her show to set things straight and for the rest of the world to hear her very amusing story.
For those who haven’t got a hold of all the happenings, here’s what happened: Taylor put the special possession of hers on a school’s sharpening box. The next morning, when the time came for her to retrieve the pencil, it was already out of sight. The little girl got a little angry and suspicious. Taylor accused her very own classmate Lizzie of the disappearance of her prized possession. Taylor confronted her fellow student about the said crime and told her she didn’t earn it but she never gave it back.
On Wednesday, in an episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Taylor explained that she earned that pencil and she liked it very much. The 7-year-old student even described the pencil as colored pink and has a pink eraser. Moreover, she described it as a big one because she never used the eraser. In addition, this special pencil had rainbows saying ‘attendance awards’. Fortunately, Autumn, Taylor’s friend found the pencil and gave it back to her.- Advertisement -
But still, Ellen wanted to give Taylor something special. First of all, the 62-year-old host gave Taylor an excused absence letter explaining that she appeared on the show for her to still get a perfect attendance. Then, Ellen gave Taylor a selection of school supplies that she can share with her entire class.
That’s not all on the list, as Ellen also gave Taylor a giant perfect attendance pencil with her name written on it. The giant pencil was even taller than Taylor. And there’s more! Taylor also received a $10,000 scholarship from Shutterfly so that the kid can continue on studying science, her favorite subject.
Taylor was more than happy to receive her “awards” and for someone to star in a very popular TV show, the little girl is very proud of herself. Hopefully, nobody will “steal” her gigantic perfect attendance pencil this time around.
Earlier, Charlize Theron and other celebrities also surprised some kids with scholarships.
