With an emotional statement on July 6, 2019, the Grown Ups star’s family confirmed the news of his untimely passing. At the time, a spokesperson for the family told Us Weekly that it is with a profoundly heavy heart that they report losing Cameron that particular morning, noting that after suffering a seizure, the actor “passed away in his sleep.”

The Disney star’s loved ones set up the Cameron Boyce Foundation in the wake of his death, which serves to raise awareness for epilepsy patients and help reduce gun violence.
On Monday, July 6, the Boyce family honoured the Jessie alum one year after their heartbreaking loss in a statement on the organization’s official Instagram, adding that they are so grateful for all the love and support and that they’ll continue their fight to end SUDEP (sudden unexpected death in epilepsy).

Hours before the Cameron Boyce Foundation urged fans to continue their support in the actor’s honor, Cameron’s father wrote on Monday that his son’s memory is a blessing.
The actress captioned a throwback photo on the set of 2010’s Grown Ups of herself hugging Cameron tightly that she’s “Remembering all the joy Cameron Boyce gifted them.” Hayek penned a thoughtful tribute in his honor after learning of the young actor’s death last year.
On Instagram, the Descendants actress shared a handful of candid black-and-white photos over the years of herself and her former co-star. She wrote that it’s been a year without his light and she’ll love him forever, just like this.
The New York native who starred along Cameron on Disney’s Jessie, tweeted a loving dedication to her former scene partner, writing that everyone misses and loves him, and she hopes he knows and sees that.
The former child star posted a playful photo of her sitting near Cameron as he strummed a guitar, captioning the Instagram post, “I love you.”
In an Instagram post dedicated to her Descendants costar, the Disney alum wrote that it’s been 365 days of missing their angel, and they miss him a little more every day.
