TikTok is more than just a fun app, it can also make you earn money. Forbes revealed recently the highest-earning TikTokers in the world and you’ll be surprised to know that they’re mostly teenagers.
So how did Forbes come up with this list? They focused more on social media stars who are “native” to the app instead of the traditional celebs who have strong followings on TikTok. Their method included estimating the pre-tax earning from June 30 of last year to June 30 this year. They also talked with the TikTokers themselves, their teams, as well as their investors.

1. Addison Rae

The 19-year-old TikToker earned approximately $5 million between June 2019 and June 2020. She was studying broadcast journalism at Louisiana State University before she became famous on TikTok. She has a massive following which helped her struck a sponsorship with American Eagle, Reebok, and Fashion Nova. In addition, she’ll be launching her own makeup line called ITEM Beauty whih aims to inspire Gen Z to embrace their flaws.
2. Charli D’Amelio

At 16, Charli danced her way to becoming one of the most popular users of TikTok. A year after she’s joined the app, Charli has raked in $4 million. She has sponsorship deals with popular brands like Hollister and Morphe Cosmetics. She also has her own merchandise line. Further, she appeared on a commercial for Sabra Hummus which aired during the Super Bowl.- Advertisement -
3. Dixie D’Amelio
Dixie is Charli’s big sister. Fans would often see her dancing with her little sister in their numerous brand campaigns. She made $2.9 million for the past year. Unlike her sister, she’s more interested on making it in the music industry. She released her first single in June entitled “Be Happy”. The accompanying music video has already gained 61 million views.
4. Loren Gray
Loren is already a social media influencer and joining TikTok only catapulted her fan base. In 2018, the 18-year-old signed with Virgin Records and the past year she was able to earn an estimated $2.6 million, thanks to her partnerships with Skechers, Burger King, Revlon, and Hyundai.
5. Josh Richards
As the resident heartthrob and bad boy of TikTok, it’s no surprise that Josh Richards is able to earn around $1.5 million since last year. He has sponsorship deals but it’s his entrepreneurial skills that helped him earn more. He has ad revenue from his YouTube Channel plus he co-founded TalentX, a talent management company. He also has a beverage company called Ani Energy and became the chief strategist of Triller, TikTok’s competitor.
