Gigi Hadid took the runways during Fashion Week by storm!
The 24-year-old supermodel never fails to dominate the world of fashion with her stunning looks, curvy body and killer poses. But did you know her early beginning in the catwalk wasn’t easy?
Hadid is the cover of the spring issue of i-D magazine where she opened up about her experiences as a model, specifically how she got started in the industry. She also talked about her career goals and the things that bring her joy.
According to the star, the first designer to let her walk on a runway was Jean Paul Gaultier. It was for his ready-to-wear show in Paris in 2015. During that time, she was just starting her career and was graduating from high school. She also said that back then, she still had her volleyball body which she loved.
She added that she worked hard to be muscular and curved in the right places. She admitted how much she missed that body, too. But that time, people told her that she didn’t have a body fit for the runway.
Moreover, she said that there were designers who would cast her in their fashion shows but they only let her wore clothes that covered her body. However, she was thankful for Jean Paul for letting her wear clothes that didn’t cover a lot and for making her feel she could shine that way. For the young model, it meant a lot to her and she knows he had done the same for other people.
During Gaultier’s final runway show in the middle of January, Gigi felt absolutely honored to be a part of it. In addition to his working with people he had worked with throughout his career, Gaultier has also streetcast many on his last couture show.
As far as her career is concerned, Gigi said she wants to take things simple and low-key. She admitted that she loves the creative side of fashion and the people she works with. Further, she enjoys getting away from it all and be in isolation. She talked about her farm and how she spent days there all by herself in her little cottage and doing things for herself. According to her, it recharges her batteries.- Advertisement -
