Jennifer Aniston is just one of the many celebrities who get to go home with a new trophy to add to their collection. The 50-year-old actress received the prestigious People’s Icon Award during the 2019 People’s Choice Awards held Sunday.
The award was given to her by her very close friend and co-star in Murder Mystery, Adam Sandler. The actor introduced her as a person who is an incredible, caring role model and has a big heart. He added by saying that she is exactly what people think she is.
Aniston said that the award is an incredible honor especially the People’s Choice as it has always been special to her. She joked that as actors, they don’t do it for critics or for each other or to make their families proud but instead for the money. She said that they’re doing for the people because none of them would be doing what they do if it isn’t for the people who’ve always been good for her.
Of course, the actress didn’t forget to mention her Friends co-stars. She said that she became an “icon” because she was a part of an iconic show with an equally iconic cast and haircut. She was referring to the series she was a part of, Friends. She said it was the gift of a lifetime and that she wouldn’t be standing there and receiving the award if it wasn’t for the show and the five actors she played alongside with and the audience who remained loyal to them until the end.
In conclusion, Aniston thanked her fans and supporters who’ve been with her on her journey. She mentioned too how happy she is to be back where everything started and that’s on television.
