Looks like Kylie Jenner isn’t the only one who likes to sing to her daughter because sister, Kourtney Kardashian, has her own wake-up song.
The 40-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashian star told Entertainment Tonight through a Twitter interview on Thursday, November 7, that she has her own good morning song but she refused to sing it that time.
However, her younger sisters, Kim, 39, and Khloe, 35, won’t let her get off the hook easily. The two started singing together the song with the lines: The sun is shining / Hooray, hooray / Have a good day.
It was only last month when the Kylie Cosmetics CEO, Jenner, first shared her “Rise and Shine” song for her 21-month-old daughter, Stormi, through a YouTube video. Ever since the video was uploaded, it became viral. It featured the 22-year-old mogul singing the song to wake up Stormi, whom she shares with her former man, Travis Scott.
The song became an instant hit and soon many celebrities were recreating the song and one of them was the pop star, Ariana Grande. She actually asked through her Instagram Story if she can sample the song and Jenner said that she allows her too as long as she gets to appear in the music video.
Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus and boyfriend Cody Simpson also covered the song. The Hannah Montana referred to it as the new alarm clock. They sang a duet and in October and shared it with fans through an Instagram video.
If that wasn’t enough, Jenner also revived the track for her brother’s Instagram account. She mouthed the lyrics of the song in a video posted in October by Rob Kardashian which he captioned, “Rise and shine”.
Being the businesswoman that she is, Jenner capitalized on the popularity of her wake up song. She actually filed legal documents to trademark the famous catchphrase. If approved, she can use it on her products like cosmetics and clothes.- Advertisement -
So how did fans and others react to this? One user on Twitter said that you can’t trademark such a phrase which has already existed before you were even born. Another said that there were those who were bugging Jenner to create a rise and shine makeup palette but now that she’s working on one, they said they don’t want it anymore. Moreover, there’s another user who tweeted that celebrities shouldn’t trademark common phrases because Jenner herself didn’t mastermind the phrase rise and shine.
Hopefully, Kourtney Kardashian can also upload a video singing her own good morning song soon.
