Lashana Lynch – a Black Woman Is the Next 007. Who Is She?

Just when you thought the new James Bond movie couldn’t be any more anticipated, and over-rumored, news that British actor Lashana Lynch will replace Daniel Craig as the legendary agent 007 in the James Bond franchise leaks, making fans go nuts. It was clear that Daniel Craig, who starred in 3 James Bond movies (with fourth to come very soon) will very soon pass on the flag to someone new. And, as always, rumors and speculations about who will be the next Agent 007 have been going around for a while.

Yet, everyone who gasped in shock just now can relax. Lashana Lynch will not be the new James Bond (name gives it away, right?), she will just take over the agent code used by the character.

Diversifying the Movie Industry

In the light of the recent trend of diversifying the movie industry many motion pictures started starring actors that are ‘not traditional’ for all sorts of roles. And it was just a matter of time until James Bond, being a legendary figure in both literature and filmography, would be affected by the trend as well.

For years it has been speculated that Idris Elba will be the new Agent 007 after Daniel Craig retires. This, perhaps, would make some fans uncomfortable, since James Bond has always been played by white males. Yet, let’s not forget, that the choice of Daniel Craig for the legendary role has been widely criticized at first. And all because he is blonde and not dark-haired, as the ‘real James Bond’ is supposed to be.

Who is Lashana Lynch?

Lashana Lynch is a British actress, mostly known for her role as Maria Rambeau in Captain Marvel. She has also starred in such British TV shows as Bulletproof, Crims, and Still Star-Crossed.

The actress is of the Jamaican descent. And it looks like she is very proud of it. Recently she has posted a photo of her in front of a Jamaican flag while visiting the country.

It looks like Lynch has a taste for superhero movies. In addition to acting in the above mentioned movie, Lashana also auditioned for Black Panther and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Lashana’s character will reportedly be named Nomi and will be introduced in the 25th installment of James Bond. It is set to hit the screens in 2020. Even more, the exact date for Bond 25 has been announced and we are sure it will be another great James Bond movie.
