Matthew Morrison Speaks Up about Lea Michele

Matthew Morrison broke his silence regarding allegation on Lea Michele.

The two have worked together for several years on Glee where he played the role of Will Schuester. The 41-year-old actor had a recent interview on FURBAR Radio where he was asked about Michele. According to him, he thinks it’s just a distraction from bigger issues happening recently. He added that you want to be good and somebody pleasant to be around. He also made it clear that he didn’t want to comment much on these allegations regarding his Glee co-star.

Followers found out about such allegation after Michele tweeted about George Floyd’s death. She wrote then that George Floyd didn’t deserve it and it wasn’t just an isolated case and it must end.

To this, her previous Glee co-star Samantha Marie Ware reminded the 33-year-old actress how she made her first TV gig a living hell and the fact that she told everyone that if Michele had the chance she wouldn’t s—t on her wig. This and other traumatic microaggressions made Ware question building a career in Hollywood.

A few days later, Michele took to social media to issue an apology. She said that when she tweeted, she was showing her support to people of colour but the responses she received from her post made her focus on how her own behaviour towards her co-stars was perceived by them.

The Rachel Berry actress said that she didn’t remember making that specific statement to Ware, adding she never judged anyone according to their background or skin colour. According to her, what really matters is that she acted in ways that hurt other people. She apologized for her behaviour and for the pain she caused other people.

Michele is pregnant with her first child and in two months she’ll be a mother. She said that she needs to keep working to better herself and to take responsibility for her actions. She wants to be a good role model to her child and to pass on the lessons and mistakes she has learned. She concluded by saying that she has listened to their criticisms and she’s very sorry and will be better in the future from the experience she’s been through.

Aside from Morrison, Glee stars Heather Morris and Amber Riley also addressed these allegations. Morris said that she was unpleasant to work with but it’s also because they allowed it to go on for so long. On the other hand, Riley said that she’s not going to say Michele is racist.
