Despite the trials that came her way recently, Taylor Swift is stronger than ever and her influence in the music industry is most notable especially by Billboard. It was recently announced that the songstress will become the first-ever awardee of the Billboard’s Woman of the Decade Award.
Swift will go down in history as the first to be awarded this great honor during the 2019 Women in Music Event by Billboard which will be held at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California on December 12.
Billboard will be giving the award to the Lover singer who is considered as one of the most accomplished artists in the music industry of all time since 2010. Swift’s professional achievements include five no. 1 albums as well as five no. singles on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for the last decade. She also has three worldwide stadium tours as well as two Billboard Woman of the Year Awards under her name.
Swift’s achievements aren’t only in music but she is also being honored for protecting creative rights as well as her commitment to music education, cancer research, and literacy programs and for donating for disaster relief and supporting Time’s Up Initiative.
The Billboard’s 14th annual event will also honor several female artists who have contributed so much to the music industry. High-profile musicians like Nicki Minaj, Alanis Morissette, and Brandi Carlile will also receive awards as well as Desiree Perez, roc Nation’s CEO.- Advertisement -
Morissette will receive the 2019’s Icon Award for her endless contribution to music with a career that has spanned decades with 21 million albums sold at the present. On the other hand, Minaj is the recipient of the Game Changer award for her accomplishment as the first female to notch 100 appearances on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. Meanwhile, Carlile will be receiving the prestigious Trailblazer award for her multiple Grammy wins and for supporting LGBTQ and humanitarian efforts. As for Perez, she is Billboard’s Executive of the Year for leading Roc Nation successfully.
