The COVID-19 outbreak started in December 2019 in Wuhan, China and has spread to the United States with a first confirmed case in January 2020. Hollywood was not immune to his pandemic as it has affected a handful of celebrities and has caused cancellation on movies and festivals.
Idris Elba shared on Twitter on March 16 that he has been tested positive for COVID-19, but wasn’t having any symptoms at that moment. Elba encouraged everyone in a video together with his wife, Sabrina Dhowre Elba, to be in solidarity and think about each other. He also warned everyone to stay positive and avoid freaking out during this crisis.

She also said that her husband Kevin Manno and their two kids Molly and Riley have been self-quarantining at home. Fedotowsky ended her message by asking her followers to take this crisis seriously. She warned everyone to avoid going out, observe social distancing and practice frequent hand washing.
The soccer player had himself self-quarantined after learning that one of his teammates was tested positive for coronavirus. On March 13, the star shared a statement via Twitter and said that it is important that everyone should follow the advice given by the World Health Organization and governing bodies regarding the current situation. Ronaldo emphasized that he was not speaking as a public figure, but as a son and a father. He sent his thoughts to everyone who lost someone close to them. He also sent his solidarity to everyone who is currently fighting with the virus including his teammate Daniele Rugani.
Rev. Janet Broderick, the actor’s sister was placed in intensive care after testing positive for coronavirus. On March 11, the church where she pastors confirmed that she contracted the illness after going to a conference located in Kentucky. On March 12, Orlando Bloom revealed that he intended to quarantine himself after the set for his show Carnival Row was shut down in Czech Republic. On his Instagram Story, he shared that they will be home quarantines but will be coming home to the States. He also sent his love to everyone and said that the coronavirus may be crazy but the right thing to do is to be safe with your family.
