COVID-19 has affected the world in so many ways. It especially affected the world of Hollywood and entertainment.

Disneyland closed its doors, James Bond hasn’t returned to theatres, Coachella was also postponed and many other events were cancelled until further notice.

With the lack of vaccine or cure, the coronavirus has rising positive cases all over the globe. It has affected everyone’s lives as schools closed early, travels have been banned and people have been stocking alcohol and vitamins in their shelves. Not only that, but the entertainment world is also facing the impact that has been brought by the pandemic.

Let’s take a look the impact of coronavirus to the Hollywood and entertainment world:

Wimbledon 2020

On a statement, the Wimbledon Championships 2020 has been cancelled to preserve the safety of everyone. Moreover, the 134th Championships will be taking place on June 28 to July 11, 2021.

Tokyo 2020 Olympics

With an official statement give out by the organization, the President together with the Prime Minister of Japan decided to reschedule the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo to a later date though not later than summer of 2021. The decision was made in accordance to the information provided by the World Health Organization, so ensure the safety of the athlete’s health and everyone who are involved in the Olympics.

2020 Billboard Music Awards

In a statement, NBC and Dick Clark Productions announced that the 2020 Billboard Music Awards will be postponed. The postponement of the event was in accordance to the guidelines given out by the national health officials. The management is dedicated on ensuring the safety and health of the artists, guests, staffs and fans. They will be announcing a new venue and date of the show in the future.

2020 Met Gala

The most fashionable night in Hollywood has been put on hold amid the coronavirus pandemic. The Metropolitan Museum of the Art announced that the 2020 Met Gala which was set to take place on May 4 will be postponed indefinitely.

Justin Bieber’s 2020 Changes Tour

A statement confirmed that 2020 Changed Tour scheduled dates will be postponed. Despite Justin Bieber and his teams’ hard work on the preparation of the show, it’s still their priority to uphold the health and safety of everyone. Bieber also asked his fans to hold on to their tickets as they will be releasing new dates in the days to come.

BTS North American Tour

The Korean pop group announced that they will be rescheduling their upcoming tour in North American because of the spread of the coronavirus.
