The 4th of July is one of the most highly anticipated times of the year in the United States. Back then it was celebrated with massive parades, concerts, outdoor parties, fireworks displays and more. But now that were experiencing the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s about time you change your way of celebrating this momentous event. Here are some top tips to help you out:
Deck your house in American colours
The fact that you’re on quarantine means that you have ample time to decorate your house and take note that you don’t need to go out to buy decors. All you have to do is cut out some red, blue, and white paper and make flaglets to place around the house. You can also make paper pompoms and hang them in your balcony and living room. Don’t forget to cut out letters to spell the word America and tape them on your wall, too.
Prepare games for the family
Your celebration will never be complete without some fun games to entertain yourselves. There are many games you can play with your kids indoors or outdoors. For example, you may want to try pickle ball or spike ball.
Get dressed for the occasion
If you really want to feel the spirit of the 4th of July, be sure to dress according to the occasion. Take out those big hats that resemble the American flag which you like to wear during this time of the year or wear clothes in red, white, and blue. For example, if you’re having a family pool party, make sure to wear swimsuits in these shades.- Advertisement -
Prepare an all-American menu
What’s a party without food, right? Since it’s 4th of July, better prepare an all-American meal for everybody to enjoy. This means grilling beefy burgers and hotdogs. Make your menu extra special by including some sweet treats like homemade chocolate chip cookies or you can order a 4th of July-inspired cake for everybody to share.
The 4th of July is a very special event in America and though many are in quarantine and couldn’t celebrate it the usual way, there’s no reason why you can’t at the comfort of your home. In case you’re having guests, be sure to follow health and safety protocols in your area.
